Review of Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) by Theo S — 23 Aug 2012
+ Good idea.
+ A bit more "agentic" compared to GoldenEye.
+ Yeoh brings some fresh change for the Bond girls.
+ Götz Otto acts very well.
+ Bond's car.
+ The music, including the theme song and the background music.
+ It's going in the right direction.
+ Pierce Brosnan has found himself.
- The good idea is executed badly.
- The villain is uninteresting and totally bad.
- Very dry Bond girls overall.
- The chemistry between Yeoh and Brosnan is missing.
- Stamper is a boring character.
- Too much moving around.
- The fight at the end is anti-climactic.
- Editing stumbles here and there.
- Character of Wade irritating.
- Still not the perfect Bond.
Pierce Brosnan is taking 007 in the right direction, but boring characters and just a bad direction makes this movie very dull.
