Review of Tommy Boy (1995) by Gary S — 08 Feb 2012
It would seem reviewers don't know what the hell is funny anymore, as I see a 45% 'tomatometer' rating as I type this.
Before C. Farley departed us all, he left some funny wakes in the comedy pool. This particular film is a pillar among nearly all comedies. I should think nearly all who enjoy comedies can quote (half?) this movie.
No, I'm not done yet. Even comedies sometimes try to get serious here and there in order to focus more on the story, but Tommy Boy manages to keep you laughing from beginning to end. Its nearly all about the back and forth between Farley and Spade. One can ignore the tagline on this film's cover, as this film is a success.
