Review of Tommaso (2020) by Mauro_Lanari — 07 Jan 2021
(Mauro Lanari).
Bohemian in Rome as he prepares the storyboard for the following "Siberia", Ferrara is didactically linear in the alleged anguished self-analysis (this time supported by a mutual self-help group), and synthesizes Christianity and Buddhism in single scenes: "Quid est veritas?" "You suffer", transcendental meditation and tolling of bell. But at the conclusive repeated crucifixion of Dafoe, he becomes both unbearably more pretentious and less experimental.
