Review of Tombstone (1993) by Brian S — 28 Jan 2013
A modern western with a definitive dark edge to it. the story is pretty traditional for the genre, and except for a bit more graphic violence, really isn't all that memorable. the highlight of this movie for me is easily Val Kilmer.
his Doc Holliday character is terrific--classy, funny, entertaining, and possessing some actual depth. one of the better performances I've seen from him. the rest of the cast was just OK--even Sam Elliott's mustache.
overall worth a watch or two, but certainly not a favorite.
