Review of Tomboy (2011) by Adam L — 24 Dec 2012
Interesting and pretty film, sadly it's boring, few big happenings. There's some nice untertone of uncertain emotions from the lead here, that's good. Otherwise there is not much to cheer for here.
A neat growing up tale, with a twist where Zoé Héran does an impressive role. It's all about the children's world here, I like that, a cool view, just like "Play" in a way. It's very slow, and a bit too boring as it never rally wake any emotions for me.
Interresting rather than entertaining, but there are a few fine scenes here - I loved the scene where the lead drew that watch on her sister for example. I feel that gender identity is a cool theme, but maybe it was a bit extreme using so young people to tell it.
With that said, it's not a extreme film just a film that is pretty good.
