Review of Tomb Raider (2018) by Micah S — 18 Mar 2018
Despite a few choices that I wasn't crazy about, I really enjoyed Roar Uthaug's take on the Tomb Raider franchise. It's a fun action film, and it does a great job of filling the "Indiana Jones"-sized hole in the adventure genre that's been there since "The Last Crusade" in 1989.
I don't think that the film trods wholly new ground, but I do feel that it does a pretty good job of setting up Lara Croft's world. Alicia Vikander is really terrific in the role, regardless of what you may think of the story, and I'm really hoping that we'll see another outing with her as Lara.
