Review of Tomb Raider (2018) by Jessie H — 18 Mar 2018
An enjoyable popcorn flick. Tomb Raider is strongest when the focus is on either Alicia Vikander or when puzzle/exploration elements are in play, but the film does suffer from a middle act after introducing a character that removes so much of the heroines' ability to focus on herself.
Had the film given its time to Lara Crofts need to survive and overcome, this could have easily been an excellent starting film for a franchise. Having said that, I look forward to more from this actress and the world of Tomb Raider if they move on from origins and into some more tomb raiding.
