Review of Tomb Raider (2018) by Anthony K — 01 Jun 2018

An uninspired, dull, and humorless blockbuster that wastes its talented, charismatic cast with cliche dialogue. Some really great actors, like Dominic West and Walton Goggins, give weirdly muted line readings, as if they are embarrassed by the cliche dialogue they have to spout.

I'm a big fan of the Tomb Raider games, ever since the PS1 days, but I'll be the first to admit these games really shouldn't have their ridiculous stories translated directly to screen. That's not the interesting part of any of the games, and this film is proof.

I really, really disliked this.
