Review of Tokyo Gore Police (2008) by Trent R — 21 Feb 2009
Made largely for the export market, Nishimura does a good job af stretching a budget and providing spectacle for the easily impressed. Tak Sakaguchi's choreography is barely evident, and best seen almost anywhere else as the abundance of slo-mo and skip-frame editiing destroys any flow.
Iguchi & Yamaguchi's comic interludes are probably the best thing about this, but their Kazuo Umezu adaptations are more coherent than what little relief they offer to this bore.
