Review of Tokyo Gore Police (2008) by J S — 12 Aug 2009

Somewhat disappointing after the riotously entertaining 'The Machine Girl', 'Tokyo Gore Police' really lacks a decent story, It's stylish and visually inventive, but eventually becomes quite unpleasant and revolting, not so much because of the explicit violence, but perhaps because of the context that the violence is put into. Not to mention that some elements of the very weak narrative are nauseating, non sensei cal and truly sick, eventually becoming less entertaining and more of a chore.

The performances are pretty flat too, Eihi Shiina is a very boring lead.

Perhaps give this one a miss.
