I'm not sure I ever expected to see an anime that had no bizarre fantasy or sci-fi elements to it. Other than some hallucinations and some unlikely coincidences, this is a very plausible story. Three bums running around Tokyo in search of a baby's parents.
.. what a wild ride. The characters are all interesting and deep, the story is entertaining and twists all over the place, and the animation is beautiful. This should be added to the lineup of movies that get played during Christmas.
Stick it right between A Christmas Story and It's a Wonderful Life.
