I once described Satoshi Kon as the Dickens of the 21st century to a friend. This and Paranoia Agent (TV series) are particular favourites. This one accepts the absurd improbabilities of fiction - and the larger ones of reality - and dances like only animation can.
This to me, is anime that fufills the art form's potential.
