Review of Tobacco Road (1941) by Jeff B — 17 Jan 2012
The book was apparently much different from the film here, which was turned into a bizarrely bitter- (lacking the sweet) comedy. I think censorship got the best of this one. Still, two starts for Ford's direction and Charley Grapewin's portrayal of Jeeter Lester.
