Review of To Save a Life (2009) by Drea B — 13 Jul 2011
AMAZING movie. For me this movie was very intellectual. It made me think about everyday people around me. Infact, immediately afterword I wanted to befriend anyone who seemed quiet, and seemed to not have many aquaintances. This movie inspired me in many ways. I have never lost someone to a suicide, and this movie opened my eyes. No one deserves to go through a disaster like that. This film has become my favorite films of all time, because of how much it really makes the audience pay attention, and come to the realization that you really would never suspect a person that you know to be a person to commit a suicide. The audience really comes to the understanding of the dramatic effects of harrassing someone, and the consequences of their actions. My favorite quote, that I took to heart, from this movie was:
"What would you do for $20? Would you French kiss a dog? How about this? Would you take your mom to the prom?"..."You know, we'd do all kinds of crazy things for 20 bucks. But what would you do for a penny? Would you take your mom to the prom now? French kiss that dog? See, the crazy thing is, is we treat people the very same way. Some are worth our time and some we just pass right by like they're worthless.".
Jaw dropping, just jaw dropping, and entirely eye opening.
This is by far the most significant and meaningful movie I have ever seen, and I HIGHLY suggest that you take the time out of your day to watch it. It could very well inspire you too.
