Review of To Return (1982) by Jc E — 16 May 2011
I can't be the only one that gives into the temptation to put a film in my queue just because Netflix recommends it, can I? This is one of them. I'd heard of it, and I think Penelope Cruz (Blow) is extremely attractive, if a relatively overrated actress.
I didn't think there would be much of a story or really any depth to it, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had a decent narrative and some profundity. It's still not much to clamor about, but it has some merit.
Plus, Penelope sings, cooks, and looks generally hot. Can't really go wrong with that, right? There just happens to be a fairly genial story about family, deception, and murder thrown in there for good measure.
