Review of To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) by Kevin R — 22 Nov 2015
Let the dead bury the dead.
Atticus Finch is a lawyer and single father raising two children on his own in the south during the depression. He is very righteous and believes in doing things the most ethical way possible. A case is presented to him to defend a black man that is obviously being wrongfully accused of rape. He will face death threats and his children being targeted as part of the case; but to do what is right, he can't turn the case down.
"Are we poor?".
"We are indeed.".
Robert Mulligan, director of The Man in the Moon, Summer of '42, Kiss Me Goodbye, Baby the Rain Must Fall, The Rat Race, and The Pursuit of Happiness, delivers To Kill a Mockingbird. The storyline for this is all time great and delivered wonderful. The characters are perfectly portrayed and the script is extremely well written. The cast includes Gregory Peck, Frank Overton, Ruth White, Robert Duvalle, Paul Fix, Brock Peters, and Rosemary Murphy.
"He is pretty old.".
"Well, I can't help that.".
I have always adored watching this movie and recently watched it for the first time in a long time off Netflix. The storyline for this picture is amazing, almost as amazing as the perfect performance delivered by Gregory Peck as the lead character. This is an all time classic, maybe one of the greatest films of all time. This is definitely worth having in your DVD collection and an epic masterpiece in American film history.
"You felt sorry for her?".
