Layered with magnetism to spare and a cool, wry screenplay, To Have And Have Not shines bright thanks to its talented leading players, but even Humphrey Bogart cannot match up to Lauren Bacall here, who sizzles with a sly wit and burns with a passion and a charisma you wouldn't find anywhere else.
