Review of To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday (1996) by Shelby A — 17 May 2006
Genuinely painful to sit through, this. Allowed some female mates to take me to it while I was at uni as Danes features, I didn't know the plot before it was unveiled in front of me. The only reason it scores one star at all is for the spectacular scene in which Danes and gorgeous friend stroll down a beach in their g-strings.
.. Other than that, Pfeiffer plays the ghost of the embarrassingly wooden Peter Gallagher who has to cope on the birthday of his dead wife. The film itself is sadder than it's storyline.
