The depiction of the clash of cultures reminded me of "Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence", and I expected this to be a copy of the classic. however, upon watching the show, I decided that this is in a complete class of its own.
the portrayal of how men fought to keep their sanity and remain civilised throughout the extreme horrors of the POW camp kept me rooted until the end. another indie classic, away from the glitters of hollywood.
