Review of To End All Wars (2001) by Clay B — 31 May 2010
Follows the story of Ernest Gordon and fellow POWs. It has many moments of violence and brutality but also faith, sacrifice and forgiveness. I'm curious to find the original book written by Gordon to see how close the film stayed with the real-life story.
The film features a pre-24 Kiefer Sutherland in a strong supporting role. Won't spoil the post-script at the end but suffice to say it made the tale even more powerful. Also, for 24 trivia nuts, Robert Carlyle who played Major Campbell in this film played Carl Benton in 24 - Redemption, the 2 hour set up to season 7 for 24.
