Review of To Die For (1995) by James H — 29 Apr 2007
Suprisingly funny and satirical, a nice comment on the whole TV-Star thing, with great over the top characters and great overkill acting. And the fake TV-Documetary "scan lines" theme works well.
Yes it's light, a little thin on point and very hit and miss, but fun-not-stupid film that does what it set outs to do (incidently not much). The only real problem is: Over the top characters? Mockumentary? Black Comedy satire of TV Star personas?TV scan-lines? Late 90's? This has "Natural Born Killers rip off" stamped all over it.
And given it came out exactly one year after, it should be treated as a possibilty. But questionable plagarism aside, a nice lightweight film.
