Review of To Die For (1995) by Michael T — 21 Jan 2009
I haven't seen it in a few years; it came out at the tailend of the "Tabloid TV" phenominum that had started on Fox in 1989! Kidmann became a hot blonde for the first time in her career and left her Aussie accent behind.
Film is pretty good as Kidmann, a local TV weather girl with lofty ambitions, seduces a horny teenager to kill lunkhed husband (1980s hunk Matt Dillon) because lunkhed husband wants her to have kids and give up being the TV weather girl.
When this movie came out, several real-life crime stories similar to this one had come to light. The film is intended as a satire of people's preoccupation with being on TV or watching TV.
