Review of To Catch a Thief (1955) by Dustin H — 18 May 2009
This movie was a real oddball. Hitchcock really didn't work his legendary suspense angle. While the thrill was still there, this movie really relied on the chemistry and tension between arguebly the most classicly handsome actor at the time and the most stunningly gorgeous actress who adds tons of class to anything she takes part in.
The film is set in beautiful southern france and between the locations and the actors, this is truly a picturesque movie. There is an unexpected amount of humour and wit that kept it the pace but if your in it for the plot you may be a little dissapointed.
Overall, it is a highly watchable hour and a half of classic beauty.
