Review of To Catch a Thief (1955) by Daniel T — 12 May 2016
The film definitely has some flaws. The way scenes change, the story being sometimes confusing, and the predictability of the film's ending are all examples. This film can arguably be a film by Hitchcock that displays a lack of control rather than complete control, which is what he's known for.
But, the film might be his best, casting wise. Grant and Kelley are great together. Their banter between each other feels so natural, and it's impossible to turn away from. What seals the deal for this film is the cast, and how the cast is used.
