Review of To Catch a Thief (1955) by Sumit S — 13 Jan 2013
Engaging from the first frame, as Alfred Hitchcock ties up the mystery & suspense elements with impressive filmmaking that makes To Catch a Thief, a movie no mystery fans should miss. The direction is really good with Hitchcock structuring the whole narration in such an immersive but controlled & gripping manner that viewers won't be able to resist trying to solve the case on their own.
The performances by Cary Grant & Grace Kelly are wonderful but the most amazing part of this film is its cinematography showcasing the beautiful locations in its vibrant colours. And on an overall scale, To Catch a Thief is a beautiful, entertaining thriller from the master of suspense himself that you're gonna have fun solving it.
