Review of To Catch a Thief (1955) by Jonas T — 25 Oct 2008
To say this is a thriller is a bit off the mark, I would rather say this is a suspense comedy, it isn´t a full blown com,edy of course but it is one of Hitchcock´s funniest he ever did and it is also one filled with alot of effortless class.
Cary Grant and the beautiful Grace Kelly spark off eachother. Cary Grant plays a retired thief John "The Cat" Robie but is immedietely blamed when jewellery is stolen and has to catch the copycat to clear himself, cat and mouse games ensue.
To Catch a Thief is Hitchcock at his best and one of his most beautiful movies.
