Review of To Catch a Thief (1955) by Late R — 31 Mar 2018
There's a lot less of that Hitchcockian feel (not so menacing, lighter in tone) that you come to expect from the iconic director, but that doesn't mean it's any less entertaining. Beautifully filmed capturing the French Riviera in style, 'To Catch a Thief' has a plot full of mystery and suspense, two perfect leads in Grant and Kelly, as well as some great supporting characters.
The dialogue is also witty, sharp and funny. This is a light-hearted mystery-suspense film with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure, and it just oozes charm. It's very hard not to love it.
