Review of To Be Takei (2014) by Audrey C — 22 Aug 2014
Uncle George is a fabulous role model for Asian Americans, for actors, for gay people, for human beings. Without knowing it, I found a mentor. This film shows the human being George and his life as it has unfolded so far.
His positivity and strength helped him survive through many hardships. We see how George is smart, witty, charming and reasonable even in the face of hostility. Film is well paced and historic as George reveals his personal Japanese American history.
Overall, the film is filled with love. George loves his family, and they love him back. Seeing this film will make you believe in the power of love.
