Review of To Be or Not to Be (1998) by John D — 26 Jun 2008
One of the great classic comedies of the WWII era. Jack Benny is at his dead-pan best as a hammy Shakespearean actor, who must deal with the encroaching Nazis and his flirtatious wife (Carole Lombard).
Unfortunately, Lombard would, after this film, die tragically in a plane crash while on a war bond tour. This final film, however, does capture her comedic talents at their best. A must see for fans of classic film comedy.
