This movie is awful. Pretty plain and simple. From the script, the acting, the soundtrack, the shots, etc. It is hard to put it into words. This "Rom-Com" felt more cringe-worthy from it's uneventful and lazy ideas when trying to sound comedic. With all that to say, I'll start with the very few positives that circulates in the movie.

Peter's character seems to be someone to root for throughout the movie (although his acting can maybe pursue the opposite). LJ's role was not terrible, but she seemed to be the driving force for the movies potential.

The aesthetic was well done in some factors. The color schemes were not off in most spots, but overall, it can be seen as a positive.

Some may disagree, but there is areas of unpredictability in the movie as well.

Alright, now the negatives... fasten your seatbelts for this one...

The plot was absolutely horrendous in every way possible. As LJ's love for Peter continues to grow, she forgets about Ambrose, who sends her a letter back (finally), and she seems to already fall in love with him before she even reads the letter. This was a pitfall and the ultimate reason why this movie is awful. LJ is portrayed as an awful person who just jumps around from Ambrose and Peter, but blames Peter for making a mistake in the end of the film. It is just a messy pile of trash that is never settled until the last 30 seconds of the movie.

Also, Ambrose's character is never developed. He is just seen as a really creepy guy that can't stop thinking about an 11-year-old LJ, which is just ugly. I mean, all he talks about was 6th grade with LJ!

Another issue is the shots... the SAME shots... with the SAME type of music... EVERY TRANSITION...

Did someone just fly a drone across a highway or street and play some dummy version of soft dance music? That is what it seemed like.

Not worth discussing the acting, it was just bad. The script was just bad. Worst of all was the END.

How does she go from making out with Ambrose to just realizing that Peter is the one? And then leaves him in the dust only to find her true love one minute later who so happens to be walking in. Then they make out and viola! Wow, that is laughable. She just proved herself that she cannot be in a sustainable relationship, but just dumped Peter the previous day for being with the other girl. Something doesn't match up. Hopefully in the third movie Peter finds out she just made out with the creepy guy two minutes prior... Maybe that will cause another destructive rabbit trail that leads to the same ending.

Don't watch it. It ain't worth your time.
