Review of To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018) by James V — 17 Aug 2018
I feel like after watching this movie, the next girl I fall for I'm just straight up going to ask her out. What I took out of this movie was about exploring what could be as opposed to just sitting there writing letters and being too scared.
People really should open up, and not be afraid to get hurt, because if you never do, you never know what could've been. Spoilers from here on out. A movie like this really resonates with the youth because I think it portrays an extremely accurate depiction of what it's like to love and be too scared to confront it.
Her personal journey through letting go of all her fears and finally chasing what she wants was really amazing to see. This well developed plot was undoubtedly made better by the amazing portrayal of the emotions and characters throughout the movie.
The acting was superb and without it everything wouldn't be as convincing as it was. I feel that whoever made this movie really did go through this journey on their own because it really shows in the emotions and attention to details put behind it.
It never felt too over dramatic yet still had high enough stakes for the characters. I'm sure everyone can find something that really resonates with them about this highly relatable and enjoyable movie.
