Review of Titus (1999) by Craig N — 24 Aug 2007
Revenge. Italian style. Anthony Hopkins refuses to show mercy gets what he deserves. But then he gets far more than he deserves and looks to pay it back.
This gorgeous film boasts several dynamic performances. The characters are all very human but none can be said to be humane. The story has no moral center so the audiences sympathies shift. Probably meant to be a finger wagging indictment of the futile nature of revenge. This plays out more like a grizzly episode of Kenny vs. Spenny. Jessica Lang is set up for the ultimate punking.
