Jessica Lange oozes sex - never more than here. I wonder if anyone else could carry off Tamora. At times it felt surreal; as in Shakespeare in the hands of Luis Buñuel. The scene after Lavinia's violation - in the vast plain; incredible, incredible cinematography. One of my fave scenes is Lavinia spelling out the names of her tormentors with the walking stick. Amazing choices for music; some of it deliciously ironic.
