A film most viewers either love to hate or hesitate to praise, "Titanic" is a unique cinematic experience, an awe-aspiring spectacle of groundbreaking visuals that also boasts great direction and decent performances, mostly balanced and able to make some strong points on its social background.
It is indeed too melodramatic at times; but wasn't the real Titanic a huge tragedy? Ok, hate the film, but consider that few films have touched such a massive audience and this means something, doesn't it?
