Review of Titanic (1943) by Anna B — 05 Dec 2014
This is my #1 favorite movie that still stands as one of the most outstanding, wonderful, exceptional, emotional, moving, magnificent, captivating, phenomenal, and heartfelt films ever made. This is the only film that has had the most powerful impact on me since the first time I watched it.
It is the only film that makes me cry because of the genuine attachment we form with the two main characters throughout the course of the film. Titanic is the most epic, compelling, beautiful, touching, meaningful, poignant, realistic, and emotionally resonant cinematic love story ever told, as well as being the most sincere, original, heartfelt, genuine, beautiful, and best romance film of the 90s, 20th century, and of all time.
No other romance films can compete with Titanic. This is a love story that is far more superior and genuine than Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. I've love this movie and have seen it countless times and never get tired of it.
It will always remains nostalgic to me and transfixes me each time I watch it. It is and will always be a timeless classic romance love story and true cinematic masterpiece with the most beautiful, iconic film score ever composed.
At the core of this film's love story, we have extremely powerful, moving, flawless, energetic, and engaging performances from both romantic leads, Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet), who are truly the best on-screen couple in cinematic history.
These two talented actors and the characters they portray definitely have undeniable, believable, powerful, and genuine chemistry that is intertwined with endearing, passionate, and powerful emotions, making audiences truly care about both their characters and their star-crossed lover relationship with one another.
Their romance is richly justified and truly convincing, and definitely embodies true love. DiCaprio's and Winslet's amazing, natural, extraordinary, convincing, and breathtaking chemistry certifies this film as the greatest love story of all time.
The film's central theme proves that true love transcends and is stronger than early 1900s society's rules; the theme also affirms that a person's worth (individual character traits, like moral values, integrity, kindness, and so on) is far greater than the social status that a person is born into.
And the overall message is that true love forever lives on, as shown in the closing scene (the most powerfully emotional movie ending ever made) when Rose reunites with Jack, her one true love, in heaven.
Flawless and truly outstanding, and most definitely deserving of all the acclaim, accolades, and box office success of earning over $2 billion dollars worldwide (2nd highest grossing film of all time, however it was the very 1st film in history to pass the billion dollar mark at the box office in 1997/1998), and 11 Oscar awards it has received including Best Picture and Best Director.
This movie surpasses and defeats all negative criticism aimed at it and is truly a film for the ages. Titanic will always be one of the best movies ever made in film history. A film that will always be known as a classic, blockbuster, and the greatest and best achievement ever committed to film.
It absolutely is a remarkable and unforgettable American cinema epic masterpiece classic that is and will always be remembered and appreciated for generations to come.
