This movie gets too little attention. The visuals in Titan A.E. are really top notch, certainly its most impressive quality.

However, even the story has its own pizazz. I've heard of people complain that the story was too familiar to other sci-fi movies (and this is where I would like to ask the question of why Avatar can get away with a recycled story if this one can't, but that's not part of this particular review), but in all honesty, the only real quality of other sci-fi stories I saw was in some throwbacks to Star Wars. The rest of the story I found to be a clever depiction of what would happen if humans were on the verge of extinction. Plus, the voice actors did their job very well. They applied humor and drama as needed. (The only voice actor I was not fully satisfied with was Drew Barrymore, but I feel as though Matt Damon's excellent performance made up for it.).

I'd say there was no huge weakness in the story. It had some cheesy moments, I'll give it that, but almost every movie ever made has had its cheesy moments. And there were maybe only one or two, really.

I don't really have many complaints with this one. The concepts are inventive, the aliens are cool and new, the visuals are stunning, the dialogue and story are on par... It's just a well-made animated science-fiction endeavor, and probably a little underrated.

8/10.
