Review of Tinker Bell (2008) by Dariane N — 03 Nov 2008
The most impressive aspect of this film has to be the beauty of the animation. The fairies and landscapes look absolutely gorgeous.
That said, this movie was a tremendous disappointment.
The story was all too predictable and only barely inspiring. The voice talent was sub-par, with the exception of Kristin Chenoweth and Rob Paulsen. And most importantly, this movie made me view Tinker Bell in a completely different light. In Peter Pan, Tinker Bell was the spunky, bratty and stubborn fairy--all characteristics I loved about her. But in this movie she's not. And *spoiler alert* at the end, she performs a random act of kindness for Wendy, whom she is jealous of for the entire Peter Pan story. Wtf, Disney? *end spoiler*.
Ultimately this movie was a disappointment, and is clearly just Disney trying to make a buck off old stories and ideas.
