Fascinating premise, subject, and outcome. Tim Jenison is an interesting subject, and his obsession it part of what makes his "theory" so interesting. I don't know much about art (besides "I like that" or "I don't like that"), but the doc got me interested in Vermeer and the whole art debate.

I found it amazing a non-artist could do such a good job using the method depicted. Tim's obsessive mind is the other really interesting part of the doc; the amount of time, money, and effort he puts into his project is inspiring.

The doc is well directed, except for that weird "Penn and Teller" sketch about the Queen that shouldn't have been the film. Apparently they had other "Penn and Teller" moments that they thankfully cut; that was not right for the film they were making and would have felt really out of place.

The simpler approach of just mostly just showing us Tim was the right one.
