Review of Tim's Vermeer (2013) by Tor M — 05 Feb 2015
It was a wild shot giving this film a go. It's a film about painting a painting.
A guy, that seem like an amazing guy, decides to copy a painting from an artist he has fascinated for a long time. That guy is Tim. Tim Jenison. He's some sort of inventor and works with some computer design stuff or something. He decides to copy a Johannes Vermeer piece of work. People have wandered for a long time how Vermeer managed to paint so detailed stuff 350 years ago. Of course, Tim has a theory and he put it to the test.
We follow his preparations and his process of copying and I must confess I was mind blown. This is the meeting of technology, art and history - led by a cool dude that gives the film a touch of humanity.
8.5 out of 10 patio heaters.
