Review of TiMER (2009) by Jere M — 12 Sep 2010
The movie had several themes and questions that were explored which were really quite entertaining. It asked such questions as would you get involved in a relationship if you knew the relationship would fail? On the flip side, if you knew the relationship would fail anyway would you be more inclined to be promiscuous? Along with these are other smaller, though perhaps more important questions, such as exactly what it is that makes a relationship between two people successful. These themes were explored through the use of a device called a timer that could be implanted and make a beeping noise when you make eye contact with your soul mate. The movie is populated by people who make choices based upon the timers that they wear and others who do not wear timers at all. All in all, I enjoyed the movie, however it lacked closure for the four principal characters that were involved, which left me thinking "well, gee what was the point of that?".
Good movie, fun to watch, could have been so much more.
