Review of Time Bandits (1981) by Erik K — 09 Aug 2008
I saw this film in the theaters, but I don't think I saw it again until this evening. I was surprised how much of it still was in my head some 27 years later. The story is a bit picaresque, definitely tottering on the edge of "egads not another little intrusion on history so that Terry Giliam can show how clever he is," although never really falling off.
And there are a couple of special effects moments that are almost worthy of Harryhausen.
