Review of Time Bandits (1981) by Jer M — 29 Mar 2009
Time Bandits is Terry Gilliam at his craziest, most batshit-insane best. At first it seems to be a total goof on history with a bland studio-note child at its center. As the movie goes on, it becomes clear that there are some grand philosophical truths emerging. This is a scathing examination of morality and evil as applying to society and religion, and it is what it is in the silliest way possible.
Another reason why I love Terry Gilliam. Why oh why did it take me 21 years to see this film?
