Review of Time Bandits (1981) by Blackity B — 26 May 2009
What a delightful movie from the brilliant minds of Monty Python. Delicious fantasy plot that borders on the absurd and utterly hilarious. Some of the best jokes were definitely with Napoleon and Robin Hood.
The little fellas were greatly entertaining as well, as was the Evil Genius. Just very funny stuff. The final battle threatened to dampen the whole momentum of the movie, but thankfully God arrived to save the day.
The revelation at the end really elevated the movie onto another level and was a surprisingly deep portrayal of the problem of good and evil. Such a smart comedy is sorely lacking for children today.
