Review of Time After Time (2011) by Andrea M — 29 May 2010
Although not really a classic or a decent movie for its time, this film presents a fairly original story of H.G. Wells traveling through time to modern day (1979). He is on the search for Jack the Ripper after he accidentally gives him access to his time machine.
A notable scene is when Jack the Ripper tries to justify his existence in the future by telling Wells that he would be considered an amateur in the future's definition of crime.
Themes of questioning the future of humanity and where it was before interlace throughout the movie. This saved it for me. There was a good amount of forgettable junk in between the lines making it a bit typical and goofy at times.
As for the characters themselves, I particularly liked the way Jack was portrayed by playing his music box watch right before/during a murder. However, I'm not sure if that was something the writers put in or a historical fact.
Conclusion - this film was very marginal, but had a few diamonds to collect for future feature ideas.
