Typical cheap horror elements. While it had a few unique twists, Hollywood loves picking on religious yokels a little too much. For the record, I think it would be cool to meet some Christian hicks willin' to do the lord's biddin'.
Anyhow, someone really hated having to go to church as a kid before becoming a script writer. Very funny how creationism vs. Darwinism made it into the script. You know, if this had been targeted at any other religion, it would be considered hate material.
Except, we live in the real world where double standards are the norm. Amen :).
