Review of Timber Falls (2007) by Yousuf A — 05 Jun 2008
I was torn on rating this movie.
Should I give it one or less stars as a horror movie or high marks as a comedy? I'm still not sure as there were some parts that actually had me laughing out loud.
I'm not one to give a plot away, but let's call this "Deliverance" meets Planned Parenthood and throw in the religious right nutbags that frequently picket outside as well.
Our protagonists defy all warnings, verbal and inferred, and come into some twisted and obvious circumstances.
Our male protagonist has way too much testosterone as he spits in the face of his torturers every chance he gets serving up a grand plate of bravado that is so unbelievable...
The lapses in judgment, the obvious traps, the plot twists that really are not twists at all and the cheesy dialogue...
Like I said, this might make it into my cheese book as good comedy with a nice side or gore, but horror?-it doesn't come close.
