Review of Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012) by Ian S — 30 Jan 2012
Well, this is unique. I guess you could call Tim & Eric the closest thing to an American Reeves & Mortimer. This is my first proper experience of their "stuff" (outside of their Old Spice ads with Terry Crews, which were fucking genius), and I cannot stress enough how divisive comedy like this is - you'll either love it or detest it.
I was sold on the gleefully weird trailer, and thankfully the "movie" just about holds up. Just about. That is to say that it's completely batshit insane, an experience sort of akin to watching a 1980s buddy comedy whilst in the grip of a penetratingly intense hallucinogen.
It's not perfect - a few of the "jokes" fall flat - but it's peppered with enough hysteria and eye-melting insanity to get an easy 'pass' from me. If you think you're gonna like it, you'll like it.
