Review of Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012) by Justin G — 18 May 2012
If you can't see the humour in this movie...I feel very sorry for you. This is the most perfect parody of Hollywood I have ever seen. The sappy love moments that make the characters look evil. The over the top "deserved" punishment for "the bad guys".
The two "stars" have to literally explain to the audience why something is funny because they think we're total idiots but try their best not to show it. Of course the odd characters that come out of nowhere and leave almost as sudden.
The unbelievably offensive "jokes" that everyone seems to think is funny then never mentioned again. I love this movie. If you gave this movie a bad review you can't possibly say it's not well made or that it wasn't made with care and precision.
The duo knew exactly what they were doing. If you didn't like the humour you just don't get it (even if there is really nothing to be "got"). I felt the same way at my first viewing of their tv show, but I kept watching it and ever since it has literally gotten funnier and funnier every time I see it.
To me, that's Tim and Eric's strength, their lasting appeal. Five well deserved stars.
