Review of Tideland (2005) by Josh S — 31 Oct 2008
Perhaps Gilliam's darkest film, although there are light moments. At first I thought it was done too "on the cheap", but I warmed up to it and it has that wonderful world of escapist imagination that haunts all of Gilliam's films, with an ending that resembles Time Bandits and parts that mimic Munchausen, but through a much darker (and cheaper) filter.
Still, after the Brothers Grimm debacle, for those Gilliam fans out there, they should definitely see this if they missed it.
