I cannot pretend to understand what people so vehemently hate about this film.
Just like Spike Jonze in "Where the Wild Things Are", Gilliam fully understands the primal forces that drive a child's imagination, and uses them to indulge his own visionary creativity.
A masterpiece, next to Jonze's "Wild Things", in the not-quite-for-kids kid's flicks canon.
